Hot Diggity Damn you guys. I just got my hot little hands on a copy of Nom Nom Paleo's new cookbook - Food for Humans. Here are the 6 reasons why I'm in love with the cookbook, probably above any other I own. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a copy, the price is reasonable and totally worth it.

1. There are a shit pile of Paleo cookbooks coming on the market and the competition is getting pretty stiff for an outstanding product.  Michelle and Henry truly raised the bar in our sphere of Paleo cookbook land.

2. I'm totally jealous because I'm currently working on my cookbook and theirs is just so wonderful.  Like, I couldn't have dreamed up a more beautiful book. Thank you both for getting this project out to the world and keeping people like me on my toes!

3. This book introduced me to a new taste phenomenon called "Umami." I can't believe I didn't know about this before. Umami is considered to be the 5th taste sense. We have sour, bitter, sweet, salty and now….UMAMI. There are flavor combinations that food scientists just couldn't describe because they're so delicious and now there's a name for it. Any cookbook that introduces me to a whole new flavor sense is a freaking win in my book.

4. This book is CREATIVE. There are foods I've never heard of. It's inspiring, it's exciting. I totally "LOL-ed" reading it. From cutsie graphics on different kinds of deviled eggs and comic book funnies, I've never seen a more creative cookbook. Basically, it's not your run of the mill "pretty pictures and recipe" book. Nuff said.

5.  Henry knocked it out of the park on the photography. The photos are gorgeous and totally enticing.

6. I made the Big O Bacon Burgers. Holy crapola. It's UMAMI city and my husband is still talking about it. The burgers were moist, bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked based on her recommended cooking time. A perfect example of how creative this cookbook is, they took regular burgers and turned them into a masterpiece!

Lauren
