Hello My Leeeetle Peaches!

Alright.... so I had my first slack on my blogging.  Now, I know that you all are so enthralled by my posts that you are nearing devastation from the lack thereof so for that, I apologize!

Some details from last week and this weekend.  I worked out 4 times last week but didn't take notes on Thursday's (booo, hisss!) and Friday was an off day.  I do know that my glutes hurt REAL bad on Friday so China did her work :)  I also got to go have dinner at Anacapa Brewery with my beloved Sissy on Thursday night.  It was SUCH a treat and I'm in love with us, our conversations, our journey together, everything!!!! I even kept it Paleo with their blackened Salmon and extra veggies.

Wednesday 11/9 WOD:

WU: Jump rope, 5 minutes- practice double unders (i got 5 in a row, a new PR!!) Burpees, OH Squats, KB Swings

Team Challenge: 50 burpees, 50 double unders/150 jump ropes, 50 overhead squats, 50 kettle bell swings, 50 cat walk up plank.  There were 4 people on my team so while one person was pacing with bear crawl or walking lunge, another person was doing the exercise (as many as they could in pacers time), one person was counting and one person was resting.

We had Friday off work so I had a 3 day weekend.  Friday, I got the house spiffed up for the holidays (thanks to a little trip to Pottery Barn :)), picked up my Lululemon pants (they were getting hemmed and I now live in them), and made some delicious food.  Check it out:

I sort of used my own recipe for the pork chops because they were boneless and they were about 2 inches thick.  All of the recipes I found were for 1 inch thick chops.  I just wrapped 2 chops with 3 pieces of bacon each and baked them for about 50 minutes @ 400 degrees.  I also did not brown them, I read an article recently that said browning doesn't help retain the moisture at all.

The broccoli is drizzled with walnut oil and salt and pepper and roasted at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes.  What you don't see is that the broccoli is resting on a nice little liquid pillow of Hollandaise Sauce! I like this recipe, but I don't have a double boiler.  I used a large pyrex liquid measuring cup and a normal pot.

Bacon Wrapped Pork Chops

The cole slaw is just cabbage and carrots minced in the food processor.  The dressing is Paleo mayo, white vinegar, a touch of ketchup (I know, I know not Paleo, but it's just a dab!) and lots of fresh ground black pepper.

Saturday 11/12 WOD:

WU:We did a nice little warm up with some squats, a run to the water, cross crawls and jumps

Challenge: "SUICIDES"- like liners but worse! Forward burpees to the first line in the sand and back, bear crawl to the next line and back, then walking lunge to the next line and back, then sprint to the far line and back- for time.  We did this 3x and I sort of wanted to die.  My best time was 1:48.

Saturday I got to hang with Mom and Dad and some wonderful peeps from Murphys that all strangely enough, now live in SB (except Auntie Kris, she was visiting!).  The 9 of us went to lunch at Olio Pizzeria and I had my cheat meal.  Holy SHIZA did I have my cheat meal!   We had the most beautiful plate of meats and cheeses with Truffle honey (OMG) and olives and apricots for an appetizer.   Jeremy and I split an artisan pizza called Capricciosa and washed it all down with a good bottle of Prosseco.   Those Italians sure know how to do it!

Sunday was dreamy, we went to breakfast at Esau's (you're noticing I didn't do much cooking this weekend, we treated the 3 days as a mini vacation :)) and went to the new REI.  I could spend months in that store!!!!  I got some new headphones, a new North Face sweater, headphones and finalllyyyyyy- workout gloves!  Then we took the Lucy Goos to the beach and ended the day at Peabody's with a bloody mary and fajitas (no beans or rice)!

So that brings you to today! Wee! Tonight we're having wild caught Alaskan Salmon and I don't know what yet... I'll take some pics and make sure you know how it turned out tomorrow.

Congrats to the girls that did the 1/2 marathon this weekend, my hat is off to you!

Finally, I'll leave you with these pictures (thanks Sissy and Cris).  Feel free to unexpectedly clap your hand over your mouth in "holy shit-ness."  I did...
